SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine (NEWS CENTER) – Saturday marked a new addition to the Linda Beans Maine family
Linda Bean, Governor Paul LePage and Senator Susan Collins cut the ribbon to the new Maine Lobster Boat Café. The restaurant opened to customers Saturday at the Maine Mall in South Portland.
PORT CLYDE, Maine – Ever heard of a lobstickle? It’s a lobster tail on a stick and Linda Bean is hoping it’s going to introduce people around the country to the Maine lobster.
Bean is the granddaughter of L.L.Bean and that family heritage has given her the capital to invest heavily in the lobster industry.
BOSTON, Mass. — The Marine Stewardship Council has certified the Maine lobster fishery as sustainable, Gov. LePage announced at the Boston Seafood Show on Sunday.
“This not only helps other Maine fisheries, it helps the state. We are the lobster for the world,” said LePage, who gave credit to Maine Department of Marine Resources Commissioner Patrick Keliher. Continue reading
ROCKLAND, Maine — A New Brunswick man is a few weeks away from opening a lobster storage and processing plant in Rockland’s Industrial Park that will add jobs and provide another place for lobstermen to sell their catches.

ST. GEORGE — For years, Linda Bean had admired the picturesque wharfs and waterfront businesses in the villages on the St. George peninsula on Penobscot Bay.
She even went so far as to offer her name and phone number at one point to David Albano, owner of the Bay Lobster Co. and wharf in Port Clyde, in case he ever decided to sell. The law went into effect on July 1, and last week in Rockland Linda Bean’s Maine Lobster announced a major deal to sell cooked, frozen lobster claws with pre-scored shells (sawn part way through to make them easy to snap open and eat) to retail giant Walmart.
